LIFE AND LIVING

Though I have one life, I can confirm that I am currently living three lives. If my life was a drama series, there would be three story lines going on concurrently. The first one is the academic life with its own pressures. The main stress being the anticipation to graduate after years of studious life. The second life revolves around my wife and kids and relations. The desire to have these people around me and being able to show them my love, not only in words but deeds. The third life is between me and the world. The people that feel hurt by my actions much as I did not intend to do so. The realisation that I cannot change the past yet it has a bearing on my future. However, my desire is to be in good terms with all mankind. To show as much love as I can. To be understanding to other people's feelings and needs. A significant percentage of my time is spent thinking how best I can live these lives.

Welcome Back

Welcome back to my blog. After many years without posting on this blog, I have decided to revive it. I am glad to find out that it has so far accumulated 595 page views despite having 9 posts only. A lot has happened from the last post up to now, but I guess I will have to take baby steps in reviving this blog. I have to either choose from starting to blog on  current issues or start from the past news and merge them into the future. It will be a natural process. For now, welcome back.

Having an Engineering Publication in Malawi

I am proud to have been sent a copy of the monthly publication of the South African Institution of Civil Engineering magazine for six months from July to December 2008. The articles contained therein are not only motivational but also very inspirational.

However, the question is 'Why can't we have an engineering publication in Malawi?' To start with, probably we can start with a publication covering all engineering issues in Malawi since (may be) to have one publication dedicated towards civil engineering currently would not be very feasible. We have the Malawi Institution of Engineers but somehow it has not done much towards having an own established publication. Apart from updating engineers on what fellow engineers are doing in the country/industry; it can be a very good motivation for students wishing to pursue a career in engineering one day.

May be I should put it again on the list of issues that I intend to work on upon my return back home. Hey! but the list is getting long every day. The list includes ... No, let me keep quiet; somebody may steal my ideas and implement them before I am back to my home soil. So for now; the publication is needed more than ever. Peace.
