I am proud to have been sent a copy of the monthly publication of the South African Institution of Civil Engineering magazine for six months from July to December 2008. The articles contained therein are not only motivational but also very inspirational.
However, the question is 'Why can't we have an engineering publication in Malawi?' To start with, probably we can start with a publication covering all engineering issues in Malawi since (may be) to have one publication dedicated towards civil engineering currently would not be very feasible. We have the Malawi Institution of Engineers but somehow it has not done much towards having an own established publication. Apart from updating engineers on what fellow engineers are doing in the country/industry; it can be a very good motivation for students wishing to pursue a career in engineering one day.
May be I should put it again on the list of issues that I intend to work on upon my return back home. Hey! but the list is getting long every day. The list includes ... No, let me keep quiet; somebody may steal my ideas and implement them before I am back to my home soil. So for now; the publication is needed more than ever. Peace.
